Juan Valdez....

....anyone kin? Just kidding, but actually looking for a source of coffee beans and best means for storing. Have kind of gotten used to strong colombian coffee over past decade or so. Would really hate to switch to instant when my local store bought supply ran out. Anyone know source for descent quantity ? ( that will not raise up any red flags , of course) Have had generic store brand in campfire perculator, and was pretty good. As for the french press, seems to require a very fine and quality coffee bean.

Thanks. Anyone have any experiance with unroasted green coffee beans? as in better to store? or would get moldy etc. Heavier so more costly to ship? I take it coffee beans can be stored in mylar w/ oxy absorbers, just like pinto beans.

Coffee begins to degrade as soon as it is roasted, since that process brings out the oils. Green beans are best, but I can't advise you as how best to store them. If you have any coffee shops in your area that roast, you can ask them.
